My Infertility Story

For five years, our family struggled hard with infertility. And during that time I felt desperate, lonely, and afraid. Diagnosed with a “propensity for polycystic ovarian syndrome,” I carried my empty belly around in silence. No one knew the extent that we were suffering, nor the amount of work we were undergoing to become pregnant. There were days when I didn’t feel human, and I needed help.

I started taking photos of myself as a way to document my infertility story and connect with other people who were going through similar experiences. Now, I hope my story sparks a bigger conversation about infertility awareness. The amount of grief and sadness that 1 out of 8 couples are going through on a daily basis is staggering. Their stories, my story, deserve to be heard.
